Through the magic of transducers, this vibration, in turn, creates an electrical signal that varies continuously with the waves in the air. If the diaphragm of a recording device, such as a microphone, is nearby, the pressure waves in the air create a vibration in the diaphragm. When sound is produced, it creates a pressure wave that propagates through the air. Bit rate, or bitrate, is commonly used to describe audio stream quality for music streaming services.
